How guests use Spotly

The journey from "where are we going tonight" to standing inside the venue.

Five steps, and they are the same whether the guest is on the app or the web. A venue owner who sees this once stops asking "but how do my customers actually find it".

What the guest does

  1. Discover. The guest opens the app and sees what is on tonight — trending events, venues near them, things just announced. Or they arrive from a link a venue posted on Instagram.
  2. Choose. They open an event or a venue and see the poster, the lineup, the times, the age policy, and what is for sale — tickets, tables, packages.
  3. Select. Tickets: pick tiers and quantities. Tables: pick a date, a party size and an arrival time, and on most venues pick their actual table from a plan of the room.
  4. Pay. Card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. A free reservation skips this step entirely.
  5. Carry it. The booking lands in their passes with a QR code, and a confirmation email arrives. At the door, staff scan the code.

Where money is and is not involved

This is the part venues most often get wrong.

  • A ticket is always paid (or comped by the venue).
  • A reservation may be free. Many venues take table bookings with no payment at all — the guest books, the venue approves, nobody is charged.
  • A reservation becomes paid when the venue attaches a deposit or a bottle package to it.

They do not need an account

Guest checkout exists. A person who clicks a link, buys a ticket and never installs the app is a first-class case, not a workaround. Their ticket reaches them by email.

The 30-second explanation

Your guests find you the same way they find anywhere else — scrolling on their phone, or tapping a link you posted. From there it is four taps to a table or a ticket, they pay with Apple Pay, and the booking is in their phone. They do not need to download anything and they do not need to call you.

Say this out loud. It is written to be spoken, not read.
