Payment troubleshooting
Symptoms, real causes, and the check that tells them apart.
The payment problems that actually happen, in the order you should check them.
"Guests cannot pay at all"
- Is the event published? An unpublished event refuses every purchase. Check this first.
- Is the status Payments enabled? Anything else and the venue cannot charge.
- Is there a ticket type or a priced table that is active and inside its sales window?
"Apple Pay is not showing"
The venue's checkout domain has to be registered on their Stripe account. Google Pay needs no such step, so "Google Pay works and Apple Pay does not" is the signature of exactly this. It is a one-time Stripe setting, not a bug.
"We finished Stripe but the panel says pending"
Known gap. The venue's stored status can lag behind Stripe's real one. Do not send them through onboarding again — that risks creating a second account. Escalate.
"Money has not arrived"
Charges enabled and payouts enabled are separate. A venue can be selling while Stripe still finishes verifying where to send the money. The venue's own Stripe dashboard has the answer.
"The revenue number looks wrong"
Check which number they are reading. Guest-facing prices and the venue's earnings are different figures — see Price vs what you earn.
Important notes
If a venue's payments look wrong in a way this page does not explain, escalate rather than experimenting. Payment configuration is one of the few places where a well-meant fix can cost real money.
