Reservations
The guest journey
Booking a table, step by step, on the app and on the web.
What a guest actually does to get a table. Worth walking a venue owner through once — it answers half their questions before they ask.
What the guest does
- Open the venue, or the event.
- Pick a date, a party size and an arrival time.
- If the venue lets guests choose: see the floor plan, tap a table, see its seats and price.
- Add a package if one is on offer for that table.
- Add a note — a birthday, a wheelchair, a preference.
- Confirm. If money is involved, pay; if not, submit the request.
- Wait for the venue. A confirmation arrives when they accept.
- The booking sits in their passes with a QR code.
What the guest sees on a table
Seats, price, and anything the venue wrote about it. A venue that names its tables usefully — "Booth by the DJ", not "Table 14" — sells more of them.
Approval
Most bookings need the venue to accept them. A venue can switch specific bookings to skip approval, but the default is that a human sees every request.
Important notes
A free booking is not confirmed the moment it is made — it is a request until the venue accepts it. Be careful demoing this: a guest seeing "pending" is correct behaviour, not a bug.
