No-shows and guest notes
Knowing who did not turn up, and remembering why it matters next time.
A no-show is a confirmed booking whose guest never scanned in. Spotly works this out on its own, and staff can leave notes on a guest that the next manager will see.
Why a venue cares
No-shows are the cost every venue can name and none can measure. A table held for four people who never arrive is a table that could have been sold. Spotly at least tells them how often it happens and to whom.
How arrival is recorded
Scanning the guest in at the door marks them as arrived. Everything else follows from that — which is a good reason to insist that a venue actually scans rather than eyeballing the list.
Guest notes
Staff can leave a note on a guest, tied to the venue. When that guest books again, the note is visible to whoever is deciding whether to accept. "Lovely, big spenders, always late" is exactly the kind of institutional memory that otherwise leaves when a manager does.
The guests section shows visit history, spend and no-show counts per guest.
Important notes
Notes on guests are personal data about real people. They are visible to the venue's staff. Advise venues to write things they would be comfortable having read back to them.
