A QR code will not scan

Six causes, cheapest to check first.

The door scans and something is wrong. Work down this list.

1. Screen brightness

The commonest cause by a distance. A dim phone in a dark doorway does not scan. Ask the guest to turn brightness up.

2. "Already scanned"

Working as intended. It shows when it was first used. Either they are back from outside, or somebody else used their screenshot.

3. Wrong venue selected

The scanner is scoped to a venue. Staff working two rooms may have the wrong one selected.

4. Staff account not attached

A door person who is not attached to the venue cannot scan for it.

5. The booking was cancelled or refunded

A refunded ticket is no longer valid. That is correct.

6. It is a screenshot of a screenshot

Compression can make a code unreadable. Have the guest open the original.

Important notes

"Already scanned" is not a fault, and door staff should be trained to treat it as information rather than an argument. It tells them the time of the first scan, which is usually enough to work out what happened.
