Scanning and door check-in
One app, one scan, four kinds of code — and what the door sees when something is wrong.
A separate, deliberately small app for door staff. Sign in, pick the venue, scan. It reads every kind of Spotly code and answers one question fast: is this person coming in?
Why a venue cares
The door is where a booking system either works or embarrasses the venue. A queue of people holding phones while somebody scrolls a spreadsheet is exactly the problem venues want gone.
What the venue does
- Door staff open the scanner app and sign in.
- They pick the venue they are working.
- They scan. The result appears immediately.
- A first scan checks the guest in and stamps the time. A second scan says already scanned, and when.
It reads four kinds of code
The door does not need to know which is which — one scanner handles all of them.
| Code | What it is |
|---|---|
| Ticket | One admission. Marks it checked in. |
| Reservation | A table or umbrella booking. Marks the party as arrived. |
| Package voucher | A bottle package or extra the guest bought. Marks it redeemed. |
| Guestlist entry | A name a promoter added. Marks them checked in. |
What the door sees
The guest's name and photo, what they hold, and — when the guest came through a promoter — who brought them, with that promoter's name and picture. That is how a venue settles up with its promoters honestly, on real arrivals rather than claimed ones.

A valid scan, and the same code scanned twice.
scanner-resultStaff accounts
Door staff sign in with their own account, and they need to be attached to the venue. They do not need — and should not have — the owner's login.
Important notes
Only staff can scan. The scanner requires a manager-level account or above. A guest account will be refused.
The 30-second explanation
Your door staff get a small app on their own phone. They sign in, pick your venue, and scan. It reads tickets, table bookings, packages and guestlist names — all the same way. If someone tries a screenshot that has already been used, it says so on the spot, with the time it was first scanned. And it shows you which promoter brought each guest, so you pay them on people who actually turned up.
Say this out loud. It is written to be spoken, not read.
