Setting up reservations

Four decisions, and then the venue can take bookings.

What the venue does

1. Draw the floor plan. The real room, real tables, seats and prices.
2. Set it active. Exactly one layout is live at a time.
3. Choose the booking mode. Do guests pick their own table, or does the venue assign?
4. Decide about money. Free bookings, or a price on tables, or packages.

Free first is a good strategy

A venue can take free table bookings without connecting Stripe at all. That means you can have them operating and getting value out of Spotly while their payment setup is still in progress.

Use it. A venue that is live and using the panel is much easier to finish onboarding than a venue waiting on paperwork with nothing to show for it.

Naming tables well

"Booth 3 by the DJ" sells better than "Table 14". The name and description are what a guest reads when they tap a table on the plan. It takes ten minutes and it changes conversion.
