Venue onboarding

Setting the service fee

You agree what Spotly takes on this venue's sales. How it works, and where the limit is.

You set the service fee for the venues you bring on. It is part of the deal you agree in the room, not something you wait on Spotly for. It goes on when you convert the lead, and you can change it right up until the venue goes live. After that it is fixed.

Why a venue cares

You are the one selling. A rate you cannot answer in the meeting is a meeting that needs a second meeting, and some of those never happen.

The three numbers

FieldWhat it does
Service fee %The percentage Spotly takes. This is the number that matters.
Flat feeA fixed amount taken instead of the percentage on small sales.
ThresholdBelow this sale value the flat fee applies. At or above it, the percentage does.

Leaving the percentage at 0 means the venue falls back to Spotly's standard rate for its market. That is a perfectly good answer — you do not have to set a custom rate for every venue.

Where to set it

When you convert the lead. The conversion form has a "The deal" section. Fill it in if you agreed a rate; leave it empty for the standard rate.

Or afterwards, from the venue's page in your dashboard, which shows a live preview of what the venue earns and what Spotly takes on a few sample sales.

Your floor

Spotly may set a lowest fee you can agree. If it is set, the venue page shows it, and anything below is refused — by the server, not just the form.

If there is no floor on your account, you have full authority.

Important notes

The fee locks the moment the venue goes live. From then on only Spotly can change it — the panel shows the rate and no longer lets you edit it, and the server refuses even if you go round the form.

That is deliberate. A live venue is a trading business that agreed a rate; it should not move without Spotly in the conversation. So get it right before go-live — that is your window.

Every fee change is recorded with the before and after, and who made it.

The 30-second explanation

Our fee comes off each sale, and I can agree that rate with you now rather than going away and coming back. Under a certain sale value it is a small flat amount instead of a percentage, so your cheap tickets are not disproportionately hit. Whatever we agree, the number you type when you price a ticket is what you earn — our fee sits on top and your customer sees one price.

Say this out loud. It is written to be spoken, not read.

Common questions

Can I offer a lower rate to win a venue?

Down to your floor, if you have one. Remember it is Spotly's revenue you are discounting, and a rate you set today is the rate that venue expects forever.

What if I do not want to set a rate at all?

Leave it at zero. The venue gets the standard rate for its market and you have promised nothing.

Does the venue see the fee?

They see what they earn on every screen in their panel — that is the number that matters to them. See Price vs what you earn.

Can I change it after they are live?

No. It locks at go-live and only Spotly can change it after that. Set it properly beforehand.

The venue wants to renegotiate after going live. What do I do?

Take it to the Spotly team. You cannot change it yourself, and the panel will refuse.
