Venue onboarding
Owners, managers and staff
Who gets access to what, and how somebody is added.
A venue has an owner, and can have any number of managers. Managers run the night; the owner also controls settings, payments and billing.
Adding someone
What the venue does
- The person creates a normal Spotly account with their own email.
- The owner adds that email to the venue's staff.
- They can now sign in and see this venue.
Removing them takes the access away immediately.
What a manager gets
Reservations, the live floor, events, tickets, add-ons, guests and the door. Not settings, not payments, not billing.
That split is the right one for a venue: the person running Saturday night does not need access to the bank arrangement.
Door staff
Door staff need an account attached to the venue in order to use the scanner. Give them their own — never share the owner's login. It is both a security matter and the only way the venue can tell who scanned what.
Important notes
A person needs a Spotly account before they can be added. You cannot invite someone who does not exist yet — they sign up first, then get added. This trips up almost every new venue.
