Creating ticket types

Tiers, prices, quantities and sales windows — everything a venue sets before it can sell.

A ticket type is one thing a guest can buy — "Early Bird", "GA", "VIP Table Entry". An event can have as many as the venue wants, each with its own price, quantity and sales window.

What the venue does

Open the event and go to its ticket types.
Add a tier and name it. The name is what the guest sees, so it should read like a door sign, not a database field.
Set the price. Spotly shows both the guest-facing price and the venue's take.
Set the quantity, or leave it uncapped.
Choose a tier — general admission, VIP or premium. This is how the storefront groups and styles it.
Optionally set a maximum per order, so one person cannot take the whole allocation.
Optionally set a sales window — when this tier opens and closes.
Save. The tier appears at checkout as soon as the event is published.

The fields, and what each one is really for

Field	What it does
Name	What the guest sees.
Description	Optional line under the name — what it includes, who it is for.
Price	What the guest pays. Spotly's fee is inside this number.
Quantity	How many exist. Leave empty for uncapped.
Tier	GA / VIP / Premium — grouping and styling in the storefront.
Max per order	Caps a single purchase.
Sales start / end	When this tier is buyable.
Pause sales	Stop selling without deleting anything.
Active	Take the tier off the event entirely.

Important notes

Pausing and deactivating are two different switches, and a venue that only knows about one will get confused. Pause is temporary — the tier stays visible in the panel and can be resumed in one click. Deactivating removes it from the event.

Common questions

Can a venue add a tier after the event is on sale?

Yes. New tiers appear at checkout as soon as they are saved and active.

Can a venue change the price after selling some?

Yes, and tickets already sold keep the price they were bought at. Only new sales use the new price.

What happens when a tier sells out?

It stops being buyable and the storefront shows it as gone. Other tiers keep selling.
