Ticketing overview

How a venue sells tickets on Spotly, from creating the event to scanning people in.

Spotly sells a venue's tickets directly to its guests. The venue creates the event, sets tiers and quantities, publishes, and sells. Guests pay on their phone and receive a QR code. Door staff scan it. The money goes to the venue's own account.

Why a venue cares

Most clubs sell tickets through a third-party platform that owns the guest, takes a cut, and pays out weeks later — or they sell on the door and lose everyone who did not fancy the queue. On Spotly the venue keeps the guest list, sees sales as they happen, and holds its own payment account.

How it works

  1. The venue creates an event and adds ticket types — the tiers on sale, each with its own price and quantity.
  2. The venue publishes the event. Nothing can be bought before this.
  3. Guests buy, on the app or the web, with or without an account.
  4. Each ticket sold gets its own QR code, tied to that guest.
  5. Stock moves as sales happen, and inventory held by an abandoned checkout is released automatically.
  6. On the night, staff scan tickets in. A code that has already been used says so.

What a venue can sell

  • Tiers — Early Bird, GA, VIP, Premium, whatever they name them. Any number.
  • Quantities per tier — or uncapped, if the venue prefers.
  • Sales windows — a tier can open and close on its own schedule.
  • Reserved seating — only for venues with an imported seat map.
  • Packages that include admission — a bottle package can carry tickets with it.

What sales look like to the venue

The event console shows ticket revenue, add-on revenue, tickets issued against capacity, and reservations, with a live feed of sales as they land. Buyer lists are there too, so the venue can see exactly who is coming.

Ticket counts split three ways — paid, via a package, and comped — because those are three different commercial facts.

What is Spotly?

This video is on the recording list. Until it exists, use the steps above.

The 30-second explanation

You create the night, set your tiers and how many of each, and hit publish. People buy on their phones and get a QR code. Your door staff scan them in. You watch the sales come in live, and the money lands in your account, not ours. You keep every guest who ever bought a ticket from you.

Say this out loud. It is written to be spoken, not read.

Important notes

Tickets can be priced in euros or Macedonian denars. There is no Danish kroner option yet — Danish venues price in euros.
